Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between microblading and a machine/tattooed brow?

A: Microbladed brows will last around 12-18 months before they require a touch up or “colour boost”. The strokes are created with a hand held tool and is meant mimic the look of natural hair, oily skin types are not ideal for this procedure. Tattoo or ‘machine brows’ are done with a traditional tattoo machine, designed for cosmetic tattooing, and look like a powdered makeup or soft shaded brow. They will last longer than microblading and require less frequent color boosts.

Q: Does Permanent Makeup Hurt?

A: A topical anesthetic is used to numb the procedure area prior to the needles touching skin, the numbing is also used throughout the procedure. You may experience a minor level of discomfort during your appointment but it should mild.

Q: What is a Permanent Makeup healing process like?

A: Depending on the procedure performed, you are looking at generally 10-14 days before the skin is healed over the tattoo & you have no more flaking, although the visible signs of healing (dryness/flaking) dissipate in this time frame the time our skin takes to fully heal beneath the surface is approximately 4-8 weeks . You will leave your appointment with a list of do’s and dont’s after your procedure. You should wait until all scabbing has shed to swim, heavily sweat, be in direct sun and have facial procedures such as Botox/fillers. Pigment has not set into the skin until you have scabbed & the scabs have naturally shed on their own. If the scabbing comes off too early you will lose pigment in that area, you can usually start to see this flaking off around 5-7 days. Aftercare products & instruction will be provided, it is important these instructions are followed to ensure maximum retention.

Q: How long does it last?

A: All Permanent Makeup is initially 2 appointments, and occasionally a third is required, once the first appointment is completed we will book the second for 6-8 weeks later, once complete your new brows, lips, or liner (with the exception of microblading) should last 2-5 years, this does vary per person.
To maintain the longevity of your new brows, lips, or liner it is advised to follow the aftercare instructions provided to you the day of your appointment. It is recommended that you book a colour boost appointment around the 1.5-2 year mark to ensure your colour remains fresh, this will increase longevity.

Q: How do I book an appointment?

A: Please check out the "Rates & Booking" page and click on the service you wish to book, this will prompt you to choose a time that works for both of us and secure your initial appointment. If the area to be worked on has been previously tattooed or microbladed, you will have to book a consultation, this is mandatory to determine if the skin has any severe damage.
